Debra May Himes was contracted to work on this home during the design stage with the architect. Since the clients live in the Southwest, they wanted a home with a casual elegant interior. Because of their easy lifestyle and their desire to have animals in their home, the clients requested tile flooring instead of stone for ease of maintenance.

Debra May Himes chose earth tones and textures for the interior to reflect the home's surrounding environment. Tile was used on the floor and stone was added to other areas for accent. Copper and leather materials, hand-carved woods and tumbled stones were used for texture and drama. Faux finished walls and lighting were added for visual texture, warmth and interest.
