The role of the interior designer on this new 10,000 square foot estate began prior to construction. The personal criteria provided to Debra May Himes for the interior environment included such terms as: casually elegant, functional, interesting, dramatic, and inviting.
Client planning sessions included discussions on intended utilization of the home, adjoining hangar, and important personal issues. Architectural details and award winning custom iron designs by Debra May Himes were added to bring interest and drama to the home's interior and exterior, including an iron and wood staircase, iron balustrades on the outer balcony, fireplace products, and various brackets and accessories.
Contrasting textures of stone and interesting elements were used to help create intimacy. Functional lighting scenes and requirements were identified and contracted out to work closely with the designer, the homeowners and builder.
